Art Statement
This work follows the tradition of Western ornamental scroll engraving, a decorative language widely associated with historic metalwork, firearms engraving, and fine tools.
The composition is built from flowing acanthus leaf scrolls, where curved stems expand into layered leaves that fold and turn across the surface. The pattern develops organically—lines branch outward, intersect, and return—creating a continuous visual rhythm across the steel.
Rather than functioning as rigid decoration, the scroll structure introduces movement and balance. Light travels along the engraved cuts, while the polished steel surface provides contrast, allowing the pattern to shift subtly as viewing angles change.
